Best Time Management Tools for Bloggers

What is one thing that most bloggers struggle with? Time. As a one woman operation, there’s never enough time in the day to complete everything on your to do list for your blog or your business. There is content to write, photos to edit, posts to promote, and products to create.

Be more productive and find ways to bring in an awesome new year of business. The best time management for bloggers save you time so you can make money.

Evernote

I use Evernote on a daily basis to organize my daily tasks, articles, information, resources including recipes and homeschooling resources as well. You set up notebooks into categories that you can clip to or add notes to as well. So if I find a great WordPress tutorial or social media tip, I’ll clip it and it saves to Evernote. Why is this awesome? Evernote syncs to all of your mobile devices so I’ve I’m working on a blog article on my phone, when I’m out and about, I can pull it up once I get to my desktop.

Everything you save is easily searchable and I use it as a digital notebook to hold everything I need to keep that I want to read later. If I want to start a blog post and brainstorm ideas, it’s easy to hop on my phone and do so when I’m not a my desktop.

Trello

If you need a place to create a workflow, I have columns for my to do list, working on, completed tasks and ideas. I have one for both of my blogs so I can keep track for sponsored posts, reviews, the posts and products I should be working on. I’d be lost without it.

I also use it to communicate with my clients so that messages don’t get lost in dozens of emails. You can add a person to one of your boards and you can tag each other once you need to communicate with them. You also have the ability to set deadlines, attach files and photos. You also get a calendar view of your tasks as well which gives you a great visual layout of your schedule.

I love the Trello app so I can check in on my clients via mobile devices.

Wunderlist

I use Wunderlist as my list maker, you can add  specific tasks and set a reminder, it’s very easy to use. It will then email you to remind you of your task. I use the app on my phone so it syncs with the desktop version as well.

Strict Workflow

Are  you having trouble staying off of social media when you have a blog post due tomorrow? Well, if you add all of the social media sites to this Chrome extension, then it will lock you out for 20 minutes so you can get some work done. I don’t know what Facebook does to me, but it always sucks me into its’ time vortex where is so hard to break free. Once the timer goes off, I reward myself with 5 minutes of FB and I can start it again when that time is up.

You don’t realise how much of a habit it is to get on Facebook when you get locked out and realized you’re counting down on the timer. It has helped me boost my productivity.

Kill Newsfeed

What pulls you into Facebook more than your newsfeed? Those funny cat videos or parenting memes always crack me up. Well, a lot of my work is also on FB as well so it saves me time if I don’t get hit by the newsfeed right away and I can go into my groups or page to network and schedule things out for the week. Time saver right there.

  1. I was reading through this like ‘check, check, check… WHOAH!’ > Strict Workflow sounds perfect for me!

I’m pretty good at working without distraction (I use the app Self Control for times when I struggle!) but then when I ‘treat’ myself to 5 mins on Facebook etc… time seems to go into hyperdrive. Definitely checking that out!
